Rotimi Olowojaiye teaches Literature-in-English in the English Programme of Bowen University, Iwo, Nigeria. He has a PhD in Literature-in-English from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. While his area of specialisation is oral literature and popular culture, he also teaches courses in drama, prose and poetry. He is presently engaged in research endeavours in the areas of performance, popular culture and literary theories. His current research is focused on advancing an indigenous theory for use in the reading of contemporary African cultural productions. Rotimi’s PhD thesis is written on the development of the performance poetry of Ọlátúbọ̀sún Ọládàpọ̀, a prominent Yorùbá poet and first generation broadcaster in the Yorùbá language.
