Mr. Olawale Gabriel Sola hails from Ede, Osun State, Nigeria. He holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies from University of Ibadan (2001) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education/Social Studies from University of Ilorin (1991). He is a certified Librarian by the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), an active member of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), Osun State Chapter and also a Member, Nigerian Union of Teachers, Osun State Chapter.
He joined the service of Bowen University in August 2015 as a Librarian II. He works as a Cataloguer and teaches the undergraduate students information literary skills and use of library and information technology among other responsibilities he carries out.
He has published in peer-reviewed reputable journals, among his publications are “Preference for and access to media resources as predictors of in-school adolescents knowledge of sexual and reproductive health issues in Lagos State” (2017) and “Security management and challenges in Polytechnic libraries in Osun State, Nigeria” (2018). Ongoing research includes: “Impact of emerging technologies on research productivity of academic staff in Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State”.
Olawale has attended conferences and is married with four children.
