Biography

Dr Festus S. Fabiyi commenced his career as an academic, as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin in 1998. After completing his Ph. D. in 2000, he moved to Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago –Iwoye, where he was appointed as Lecturer II. He rose to the rank of Lecturer I in 2002.

In October 2003, Dr Fabiyi was appointed as a Visiting Scholar at INQUIMAE, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Departamento de QuimicaInorganica, Analitica y QuimicaFisica, Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina; (Sponsored by TWAS – UNESCO Trieste, Italy). This appointment took him to the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina for research on metal complexes with mesomorphic properties. He later studied at the University for another Ph. D. Degree in Inorganic chemistry. While studying in Buenos Aires, he also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Lincoln University, La Lucila (a Buenos Aires suburb).

Dr Fabiyi returned to Nigeria and joined the service of Bowen University in September, 2007 as a Senior Lecturer. He is currently a Reader (Inorganic Chemistry). He was the Acting Head of the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry from 1st August , 2017 to 31st July, 2018. He is currently the Coordinator of Postgraduate Programmes in Chemistry.

He has published many research articles in highly rated academic journals.
