FABORO Esther (Ph.D)

Senior Lecturer

Biography

Dr. Faboro is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Industrial Chemistry Programme. She holds a B. Tech. degree in Industrial Chemistry from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, M. Sc. Organic Chemistry from University of Ibadan, M. Phil. (2012) and Ph. D. (2016) in Chemistry respectively from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

She is an Organic Chemist whose area of specialisation is Natural Product Chemistry. She has been working on medicinal plants with a view of developing a novel drug in the treatment and management of cardio vascular diseases and inflammatory conditions. She also carry out biological assays on plant extracts.

She is privileged to have Professor Craig Adeyemi Obafemi of Obafemi Awolowo University who served as her supervisor both for her M. Phil and Ph.D degrees as her mentor. She had opportunities of visiting West Virginia University, Morgantown, West Virginia, USA, working in the laboratory of Professor Patrick Callery in 2010 and University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho, USA, working with Professor Armando McDonald in 2014.
