Biography

I was born about six decades ago to the family of late Pa James Olaniran Alabi and late Mrs Comfort Gbemisola (nee Olaninwa) Alabi of Akatapa Compound, Saja in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area, Oyo State.

I had my primary education in Elega Baptist Day School in the present Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area, Oyo State(1965-1970). I went to Baptist Modern School, Ajaawa in the same present Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area, Oyo State (1971-1973).

As a result of lack of fund to continue my education either in a secondary school or Teacher Training College, I had to help my father on the farm (1973-1975) after which I got a house boy job with a Baptist minister/lecturer (Rev’d Professor and Mrs Osadolor Imasogie) in the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso (1975-1976). With the help of God and the Imasogies family, I got admitted to Baptist College, Iwo, Osun State for a teacher training education (1976-1979). I taught for one year at Baptist Day School at Ife-Odan in Ejigbo Local Government Area, Osun State (1979-1980)

I got admitted to University of Ife, Ile-Ife to study Education/English (1980-1984). I did the mandatory national youth service in Ilorin, Kwara State at Alore-Oloje Government Secondary School (1984-1985). I went back to the same University for Master’s degree in Educational Planning (1985-1988). I was employed as Lecturer III in Education at St. Andrew’s College of Education in November, 1988 and was working there while I got admission for Doctoral studies in University of Ibadan and I completed the studies in 2003, specializing in Educational Management (Policy and Planning).

While I was in the above named College, I received the mercy of God as I was appointed Provost of the College (2008-2012). The appointment gave me a unique opportunity to serve God and humanity with the best of my ability.

I secured sabbatical appointment at Bowen University (2015-2016). I was given visiting appointment lecturing by the University (2016-2017). I got temporary appointment in the Faulty of Education of the University(2017-2018). I was given permanent appointment in the same Faculty of Education (2018-2019). When the Faculty was scrapped in 2019, I was transferred to Directorate of Educational Services but teaching in English Programme of College of Liberal Studies.

I am married and the marriage was blessed with Godly children.
