Biography

Abel Akintoye Akintunde holds a Ph.D in Sociology of Development from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan. Nigeria. His research revolves around Interpretive theorizing of Indigenous Everyday African realities including but not limited to local Social Contexts of Waste, Waste Materiality, Waste Value Biographies, Waste Futures and the Waste Space and Time from the perspective of actors involved in these realities and their meanings. His Ph.D research unraveled the Social Relations underpinning local social Constructions of Imported Used Electronics and Electronic Wastes (E-wastes) within the second-hand market space of Lagos, Nigeria. He sees great prospects in deploying Qualitative Research Methodology/Approaches to articulate the nuances of taken-for-granted everyday realities, particularly from the perspective of actors involved. Dr. A.A. Akintunde uses lecturing as a prolific window to passionately mentor and training youths in self-discovery for spiritual and social transformation.
