Biography

Born on February 16, 1952 in Odo-Eku, Isin LGA of Kwara State, Nigeria, I obtained my First School Leaving Certificate in 1964 at St Barnabas’ Primary School Ilorin. Attended St. Peter’s College Kaduna in 1967 where I obtained a Grade Two Teachers’ Certificate. In 1974 I entered ABU School of Basic studies and proceeded to complete my degree course in Drama in 1978. I am one of the first set of students of Drama in ABU. My NYSC was in 1978/1979 at Gombe in the then Bauchi state. After my NYSC, I taught briefly in a secondary school in Kwara before joining NTA in August 1980 and retired in February 2012 at the age of 60.

While in NTA, I taught media courses to students of Imo State University, Ilorin Satellite Campus and students of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin. I was also a regular resource person on media at ARMTI, (Agricultural Research and Management Training Institute) Ilorin. In 1981, I had the opportunity to go for training in Media Practice in Dublin, Ireland and in 1984 I obtained my Masters’ Degree in Mass Communication in the USA.

In October 2014, I joined Bowen University, as Lecturer I and I have since then been handling eleven media courses in a session. Presently, I am a contract staff which I began after attaining the age of 65 which is the stipulated age for retirement for academic staff. I am also running my Ph.d programme with the University of Ilorin in Kwara state.
