Associate Professor/Reader

Biography

I hold a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Microbiology form the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; Masters of Science (M.Sc.) & Doctor of Science (PhD) degrees in Microbiology all from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

I have worked as an administrative staff with the University of Ibadan, Nigeria from July, 1997 to August, 2002. Thereafter, I joined the Bowen University, Iwo, Osun state, Nigeria as an Assistant Lecturer and one of the pioneer staff. Since then, I have taught many undergraduate microbiology courses and some postgraduate courses.

My research interest generally has been in the area of Environmental and Public Health Microbiology. My doctoral thesis was on ‘Soil microflora response to some herbicides’. I have also carried out researches in the area of antibiotic resistance; microbial enzymes in degradation.

For the future, I look forward to carrying out and gaining more knowledge in the area of bacterial degradation and polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
